Bubble Berry stopped in his tracks as he gazed across the streets of Ponyville. His mouth hung ever so slightly open. His heart pounded and he breathed heavily, and his eyes were locked onto a strange, stunning purple unicorn. He tried to remember ever seeing this pony before. When that failed, he tried to remember ever seeing a pony so gorgeous before. Images flashed through his mind and none of them could compare. Nopony had that cute, slightly messy mane with that beautiful stripe. Nopony had that casual, yet elegant walk. Nopony had those purple eyes full of mystery.
Berry snickered to himself and wriggled as he kept staring. He couldn’t help the ideas bubbling in his brain, of how that stallion might look from behind, or from below. How he might feel pressed up against Berry’s body. How his lips might taste. Berry’s nostrils flared as he dragged his hoof through the dirt, and he grinned.
But soon his grin disappeared, because that other stallion wasn’t grinning. He didn’t look happy at all. Bubble took a deep breath and put on a smile again. He was gonna just walk up and make that pony smile and then maybe get some more interesting expressions out of him later.
The dragon and stallion were talking when Berry approached.
“Come on, Dusk, just-” the dragon stopped mid-sentence and stared at Berry with her mouth wide open.
The other stallion, Dusk apparently, was staring too. “Uh… h-hello?”
Berry kept smiling but he looked around nervously. What were they staring at? Was there something in his mane? No, they were staring too low for
Oh.
Oh dear.
Berry gasped loudly and covered his lower body with his hooves before dashing off. For the first time in his life he really, really wished he were a mare. He’d ruined his chances with the hottest pony he’d ever seen. If he were going to fix that first impression he’d have to do something really big really fast.
Berry immediately started working on a party. He’d throw that new pony a welcome party so big he’d forget everything.

Dusk Shine and Spines stared in shock as that pink stallion ran off. With some difficulty given his… condition.
“Huh…” Dusk shook his head and rolled his eyes. “Well that was… strange.”
Spines grinned and looked back at Dusk, spreading her arms apart and wagging her eyebrows suggestively.
Dusk glared back at her and Spines cowered, chuckling nervously. He didn’t need to be distracted by crazy pink ponies at a time like this, when the fate of Equestria was at stake. But Dusk couldn’t help thinking that maybe Spines’ arms weren’t held far enough apart. There were worse ways to be introduced to a town, he thought.
Krizak Comments!
Well, that’s certainly one difference between stallions and mares: the very visible sign of a male’s interest. Add in the ponies’ lack of clothing and I suspect faux pas like this happen all the time in Equestria. I like how the initial party became Bubble’s attempt at a better second impression, and I almost died laughing at Spines’… evaluation. This toed that worksafe line, but didn’t cross it and was funnier for it.
