       And then it was done, a thunderclap echoing away into the distance, and Celestia dragged her wounded body to the window to see the moon, and the sight struck her like a blow, driving the reality of the thing into her heart, and she let her head fall, hurting with the knowledge of how long she would have to wait to say she was sorry.

Celestia’s lament over having to banish her sister to the moon, accomplished in but a single sentence by a talented writer. It leaves many mysteries, to boot, meaning the scene can be pictured in one of a hundred different ways, which adds to its strength.
