“You’re putting it on.”

“No way, Skittles.”

Rainbow groaned. It was one thing to be stressed about her wedding, at was another to deal with her twin brother. She’d been getting all the last minute details in place when she’d come into his dressing room to see him suitless.

“If you’re gonna be my best man, you have to put on the tux.”

“I don’t think so.”

“But I do. Listen, I’ve worked too hard for this for you to mess this up, Speed. Please.”

“Why are you even worried about this crap? That’s not the Dash I know. In fact, the Dash I know would’ve laughed at anyone who told her to put on a dress.”

“Things change. I change. It’s what happens when you meet the mare of your dreams.”

Light Speed shrugged and tried to walk out the door. Tried. He found himself trapped against the wall by a light blue hoof.

“Put it on.”

“No.”

“Suit up, Speed.”

“Let me think… uh, no.”

“Put. On. The. Damn. Suit.”, Rainbow growled.

“Why should I?”

Light Speed found himself pinned to the floor, his gold lightning bolt cutie mark no match for Dash’s tricolor one.

“Because I love Fluttershy, and I sure as hell don’t deserve her. So you can be damn sure I’m gonna give her the wedding she deserves. I’ve given her everything she wanted for this wedding, so I’m not gonna let you ruin it for her!”, Rainbow finished, chest heaving.

“Woah, sis. I didn’t know it was that important to ya. But sorry, I can’t let myself be tied down by a monkey suit.”, he said pseudo-apologetically.

“I’m going to throttle y-“, her threat was interrupted by a cleared throat.

“Um, Light Speed, could you please put on the suit? It would make me very happy, and I promise I’ll never make you wear it again.”, Fluttershy said quietly from the doorway.

Light Speed dislodged his sister and stood at attention.

“Sure thing, ‘Shy. You are my soon-to-be sister, after all. At least Skittles made one good decision in her life.”, he said, laughing and moving toward the suit hanging in the closet.

“Oh thank you so much, Light Speed!”

Rainbow muttered under her breath about good-for-nothing brothers and spineless jellyfish as she followed her fiancé out the door.

Bookman’s Comments

Nice work, Bankai. Light Speed felt very fleshed out, and I loved his relationship with Dash, especially the nickname “Skittles”. And how he folded so easily to Shy was very funny.
