Twilight pushed herself back to her hooves and glared at Chrysalis. Around her, her friends were doing the same, but not quickly enough. A green tendril of magical will snaked out and caught hold of Fluttershy, dragging her over to the changeling queen.
“Not so fast,” the Queen said in her calm, confident voice as she took Fluttershy in her forelimbs. All five other ponies stopped dead. “Tell me, Twilight Sparkle, what can you hope to do? Your precious princess and Elements are in Canterlot.”
Applejack looked back over her shoulder at Twilight. “Twi?” she asked. There was a slight quiver in her voice.
Twilight smiled, “Don’t worry girls. Stay calm Fluttershy. I have a plan. I read this in a book once. Pinkie, Rainbow: on my right. Applejack, Rarity, on my left.”
The girls did as they were told, carefully moving into position while never breaking eye contact with the queen.
“Oh,” said Twilight, “and Rarity? Pretend you’re green.”
“But Twi-light, green’s such…” Rarity caught sight of Dash and Applejack glaring at her and huffed. “Oh, all right.”
Twilight nodded and braced herself on the ground. Her horn glowed and all five ponies were surrounded with a glow of a different colour. Twilight’s was white, Pinkie’s was red, Rarity’s green, Applejack’s yellow and Dash’s blue.
“Activate interlock,” Twilight said.
The four other ponies, Fluttershy and the queen all exchanged looks.
“Activate what now?” Applejack said.
Dash blinked, “Why does that sound familiar?”
Twilight’s smile broke into a grin. “Dynatherms connected.”
All four other ponies in the magic fell to the ground, their legs forcibly tucked up into their sides.
“Wait…” Rainbow said, then her eyes went wide. “Twilight! That’s a book about robot ponies!”
“Infracells up!” Twilight said.
Applejack twisted her head to look at Rainbow Dash. “Dash, what in the hay is going on?”
Dash fought the magical force on her. “Gah! Just… clench everything!”
“Megathrusters are go!”
The Changeling Queen looked at her captive. Fluttershy just eeped and shrugged.
Twilight tossed her head, her magic flaring and lifting all five ponies off the ground. “Go Pone-tron Force!” she cried as all five rocketed into the sky in a column of magic colour. Somewhere, a trumpet could be heard playing.
As they flew away, Dash’s voice cried out, “Twilight! Waaaaaaaaaaaiiiii…..”

An hour later saw five ponies sitting around the large, circular table in Twilight’s library, though only one sat on a cushion. The other four had had their pillows replaced with twenty-pound blocks of ice and all four had very grumpy looks on their faces. Rainbow and Applejack were each slumped over the table with another icepack draped over their abused necks.
Only Fluttershy sat on her cushion and refilled the teacups of her friends as they emptied.
Twilight was nowhere to be seen, but the sounds of running water and furious scrubbing could be heard from the bathroom.
Silence had reigned for nearly half an hour when Fluttershy finally cleared her throat and said, “Well… um… it did work…”
Four sets of grumpy eyes leveled on the yellow pony.
“Fluttershy,” Rarity said with a carefully patient edge to her voice, “Darling. I thought we agreed: We shall never. Speak. Of this. Again.”
A/N: I’m sorry… really, I am, but I couldn’t resist. I certainly understand if this doesn’t make it up.
Hehe, this was a pretty funny idea. Five of the Elements of Harmony find a different way to unite in harmony, but it doesn’t seem to have been as pleasant for them. Great work!
