Thirty Minute Pony Stories

It was a typical day in Ponyville, or rather, it was a typical day with a dash of Pinkie. Both Rainbow and Pinkie had decided to take this particular day to rain pranks upon every citizen in Ponyville. Not a pony went through the day without being scared or humiliated by either pony. Except for one in particular, they dared not to go near Fluttershy with their pranks. Both knew what the repercussions would be if she was caught in the crossfire of their fun, it would not be pretty.

Pinkie and Rainbow were setting their last prank of the day up, a harmless party popper in a cloud for any clueless pegasus that passed by. As Pinkie and Rainbow hide nearby in a bush, snickering to each other, they failed to notice the pegasus who was flying by their prank at the moment….

Fluttershy calmly thought to herself that she was fine, she was finally going to get some good flying practice in. She was finally going to get over her fear of flying, the whole incident with the Cloudsdale water had finally made her mind up. As she flew by, she heard an extremely loud noise behind her. Too loud for her liking. Just like a filly, her wings snapped shut, immobile from her frightened state….

Rainbow saw it all too late. The popper going off. Fluttershy’s wings snapping shut. Her yellow friend plummeting from the sky. Adrenaline pumped into her as she shot off from the ground, determined to catch her friend. From that height, she thought….No, she couldn’t think about that now. She just couldn’t. Catching her friend was all she needed to focus on. And she was going to do it, she wasn’t the Element of Loyalty for anything!

As Fluttershy fell, her mind raced over everything she had done in her life. But most importantly, she thought of one mare. She was hoping, praying that she would save her. As she neared the ground, she caught a glimpse of a rainbow mane and sighed in relief. She knew that the mare she secretly loved would save her. As Rainbow extended a hoof out to her, Fluttershy noticed the tell tale signs of Rainbow’s Sonic Rainboom….

Rainbow felt it. She left the wind pressure building up around her and panicked. She looked into Fluttershy’s frightened eyes as the wind pressure around her slowed her descent towards her, her hoof barely missing Fluttershy’s. The last thing she saw as she was flung back by the wind was Fluttershy mouthing three words to her. “I love you”. Then….she was gone…..

Oh damn! Rainbow Dash and Pinkie weren’t trying to kill anyone…they were just engaging in some harmless pranking. But they didn’t know Fluttershy was there. This was a tragic accident, made worse by Rainbow Dash trying to save her only to fail. Rainbow Dash is going to be beating herself up for the rest of her life over this…it’s going to completely ruin her. Pinkie’s not going to be much happier either. Both of them will blame themselves, even though it wasn’t their fault—it was an accident.
