Thirty Minute Pony Stories

A dark blue alicorn trotted beside a purple unicorn down one of the lengthy passageways of the castle.

“Are you sure about this?” Luna asked apprehensively.

“Of course, Luna! If you go out there and show that you support and protect your sister, nopony will be afraid of you anymore! Besides,” Twilight replied with a cheery grin, “your fancolts will love another up close public appearance.”

“What are ‘fancolts’?”

“They’re stallions who admire and adore you, and sometimes a bit crazy. They obsessively follow you around and most of the time very attracted to you, but if they ever got even close to you, they get all silly and tongue-tied.”

 ”So you’re my sister’s fanfilly?”

“What? N-no, I just, um… What makes you think that?” Twilight’s face burned with embarrassment.

“You just described yourself in relation to her,” Luna deadpanned.

“In relation to whom?” Celestia asked as she rounded the corner in front of them.

“Gah! Princess! I, um, we were just discussing, um, how happy everypony will be to see Luna at the Summer Sun Celebration. Yeah, that’s most definately what we were talking about. Not you of course.” Twilight’s nervous grin was in danger of splitting her face.

“Anyways, I still don’t think this plan is a good idea. What if ponies start a riot?”

“They won’t, my dear sister. Twilight’s plan is almost 99% flawless. Her illusion spells are almost as good as yours now,” Celestia assured her sister with a proud glance at her student.

“Are not,” Luna pouted.

“Trust me, Luna, the plan will work. I’ll be ‘Nightmare Moon’, who will attack the Princess right before she raises the sun. She is now in possession of a powerful old magic, which makes her even stronger than the Princess who still charges her…” Twilight began.

“…rather valiantly. They’ll then do battle but the Princess is losing, when all of the sudden, Princess Luna to save the day! The two ponies of the night battle until…” Celestia continued.

“…Luna wins, the sun is raised, applause, applause, instant hero,” Twilight finished.

“Did you do that on purpose?” Luna peered at the two.

“Do what? I didn’t do anything…” Twilight defended.

“…and neither did I. Are you feeling alright…” Celestia said, looking over her sister.

“…because you look a little harried. However, that could be because of the plan…”

“…it is a bit complex.”

“Quit that! Finishing each other’s sentences is not normal!” Luna yelled.

“Were we? I hadn’t noticed,” Celestia mused.

“Oh please, I know you and your little pranks.”

“What pranks?”

“Could you two stop fighting please? It’s almost time for the sun to not rise, and I need to go over the details with the Princess again.” Twilight interrupted what was sure to be a lengthy argument.

“Going to fanfilly over her, you mean?” Luna smirked.

“NO!”

Norse Pony’s comments: The interaction between Celestia and Twilight was cute, and the plan they’d hatched to restore Luna’s public image is clever and seems like it will probably work. Luna getting the last laugh was quite funny, too.
