Thirty Minute Pony Stories

Where we challenge ourselves to write pony stories in thirty minutes. Prompts are posted daily. All safe for work.

Twilight Sparkle grunted as she opened her eyes.  Taking a moment to assess her injuries, she determined that she had a splitting headache, bruises all over her body and she was pretty sure her ankle was twisted.  Easily recalling the events of the past few minutes, she slowly scanned the disaster area and located her quarry: a pink pony that was also lying in an undignified heap on the ground.

“This is all your fault, Pinkie.  You started all this craziness.”  The purple unicorn managed to groan.

“It was super fun, though.  I’m not sorry, and I’d do it again.”  Pinkie replied in a voice that, while somehow still bright and bubbly, was soft and carried winces of pain.

Twilight was about to retort when she was interrupted.  “Lay off her, Twilight,” Rainbow Dash’s haggard voice cut in.  “She just wanted to us to have some fun.  And it was awesome.  I’ve gotten into much worse crashes.”

Rarity piped up.  “It was not ‘awesome,’ Rainbow.  Pinkie may have started it, but you only made it worse.  I’m a complete wreck.  It’ll take days for the swelling to go down.  And I’m supposed to meet a client tomorrow.  Worst…Thing…Ever.”

“You don’t hafta be all dramatic, Rare,” Applejack continued.  “But you’re right.  My shoulder hurts something awful now, an’ the harvest is coming up next week.  I hope it heals by then.  Don’t wanna fall behind.”

“Um…can we stop fighting, please.” The yellow pegasus’ voice was just barely audible above the groans of her friends.  “I, um, thought it was kind of fun, and I know Pinkie’s very sorry for what happened.  We’re all okay, and I’ll help us all get better.  I mean, if it’s okay with you.”

“Thanks, Fluttershy.” Twilight replied, “and we weren’t fighting.  But I still think that we have a lesson to be learned here.  Especially Pinkie and Rainbow Dash.  Next time we get a giant trampoline, we shouldn’t all try it at once.”

RWL’s Commentary

Haha, this was a fun direction to take the prompt in. I liked how you kept what happened a mystery until the end, and the reveal was a funny image. I can easily imagine six ponies jumping on a trampoline once and leading to something bad. Great story!
