Thirty Minute Pony Stories

Where we challenge ourselves to write pony stories in thirty minutes. Prompts are posted daily. All safe for work.

Foreword

Welcome again to “A Pony’s Guide to Strange and Obscure Techniques.” If this is your first time reading one of my series, then I direct you to take a look at Volume 1, 2, and 3 as they are all a good read. If you are a loyal follower who has already read the first three, then you are in for a treat this time as I delve into the mysteries of the most impressive and strange power yet!

Before we get into it, I do have something to report. This will be the last volume of my series. I do not like having to end with an incomplete guide, but this particular pony, and this particular power is one that I fear I will never completely understand.

Have no fear though my fellow questioners of the mysterious, this will possibly be my best study yet! Now enough of the dramatics, on with the topic.

The mystery I am investigating this volume is a phenomenon that I have yet to see fail, that I have yet to see in any other pony beyond the mare who holds this gift, though I do see some signs in her son that may link it to a hereditary nature, but that will come later. Before I get into the nature of this mystery, I think I should start with the mare who wields it.

She is as far from a mystery as you could ever be, her thoughts are seemingly straightforward and yet are so off the wall that I find myself burying my head in my hooves to make sense of it all at times. She’s filled with energy nearly 24/7 and you can always find her doing something that has a combination of silly and exciting.

The particular power that she wields is one that to this day I still cannot unlock the secrets too, a power that I stubbornly refused to believe in until I had no choice. This phenomenon, as strange as the pink mare herself who named it, is called the Pinkie Sense.

Pinkie Sense is a phenomenon where the pony who wields it will feel a certain series of spasms through their body which can be used to interpret the near future. From twitchy tails to a complete full-body shakes, this ability can tell you from when something will change your life forever to when a potted plant will fall on your head. Although it is not an exact science, I can tell you from personal experience that it has yet to prove wrong, and when you’re raising a young colt, it is helpful to know when things are about to fall.

This volume will contain personal accounts of my interaction with the Pinkie Sense, and a handy guide to the combinations me and Pinkie Pie have managed to unlock together. I apologize to you now if this last volume seems to be more personal than entirely scientific, but it is a hard task to look upon your loved ones with the cold gaze of science, and harder still when the subject is your own wife!

I thank you again dear readers and hope you enjoy my last volume of “A Pony’s Guide to Strange and Obscure Techniques.” It has been a great joy writing this series, and I plan on writing another series as soon as I can.

This book is dedicated to my brothers Spike and Shining Armor, to my dearest mentor Princess Celestia, to my friends Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. And the most important dedication of all goes to my loving wife, Pinkie Pie, and to our son Midnight Snack.

Thank you all for reading, and always remember that Friendship is Magic.

Your faithful friend,

Twilight Sparkle

Ah, a forward to a book series on unusual phenomena—definitely something Twilight would write. I really like the way it integrates the Twinkie into it without missing a beat—she dedicates a whole book in the series to the Pinkie Sense alone, and works with Pinkie to get it done. I do always like to see Twinkie—and nice alteration of normal direction by turning Midnight Snack into a colt. I wouldn’t mind hearing more about him, how he’s like and such.
